These shears look very nice from the left side, but a glance at the back reveals that the lock nut is gone, along with a section of the screw.  The bottom blade has been hammered upon, but the laminated high carbon steel edges remain intact with only a few tiny nicks which can be taken out easily in the first sharpening.
The thumbrest & handhold fit my entire hand.
