1st marriage: Mary E. McGaugh, b.c.1838, Greene Co., Mo., d. before 1894.  She was daughter of James McGaugh, b. in Marshall Co., Tenn., d. in Mississippi; to Greene Co. Mo. in 1856, three miles north of Springfield, Mo.  Her mother was Marinda Davis, b.c.1818, Marshall Co., Tenn. In 1894 she was living, a Baptist, in Christian Co., Mo.  Marinda Davis's father was Joshua Davis, who came to Greene Co., Mo. in 1836, where he was a County Clerk for 12 years, dying in 1856.
