INDEPENDENT 4-JAW CHUCKS, REVERSIBLE JAWS.

In all sizes except the 4-1/2-inch and 6-inch, we have put a slot as shown in the cut which will be found very handy when holding irregular work.

Edwin Harrington: Cushman Independent 4-Jaw Chuck, pages 60-61
The jaws of these chucks can in a moment's time be run out and reversed—a feature seldom found in other chucks of this kind.   The jaws and screws are made of steel and the bearings are accurately fitted.    A key-wrench made of bar steel and four bolts for attaching to face-plate are furnished with each chuck.

REVERSIBLE FACE-PLATE JAWS.
Edwin Harrington: Cushman Reversibe Face-Plate Jaws, pages 60-61

These Jaws are adapted tom a great variety of work.  The recess for the nut allows of their bring used on face-plates and tables having a  "T" slot, or they may be attached the old way by drilling holes through the face-plate and screwing the same bolts directly into the bodies as shown by the dotted lines in the cut, the bodies being already drilled and threaded for that purpose. They make a perfect substitute for large chucks at much less cost. We furnish two bolts with each jaw and a steel key with each set.
