Types H and F Crank Handles
Type
H's crank handle at left is the original thumb-and-forefinger size used
with the enclosed-frame No.2
drills,
whereas the larger handle of the Type F's crank could be grasped with
the
whole hand. Both are rosewood, and each is held with a headed pin that
was weakly riveted onto the stamped, sheet-steel crank. I have skipped
over my Type G's crank handle in the present study, because I made that
myself, using another Millers Falls drill's crank handle as a pattern.
