Types H and F Crank Handles

Type H's crank handle at left is the original thumb-and-forefinger size used with the enclosed-frame No.2 drills, whereas the larger handle of the Type F's crank could be grasped with the whole hand. Both are rosewood, and each is held with a headed pin that was weakly riveted onto the stamped, sheet-steel crank. I have skipped over my Type G's crank handle in the present study, because I made that myself, using another Millers Falls drill's crank handle as a pattern.
