This extremely nice-looking plane was assembled from correct parts. Except from some slight rounding of the sole at the very toe and an inexplicable shallow hole in the right cheek, the condition is near fine, with 99% japanning, correct blade, and no cracks or pitting anywhere in the metal.  The front of the mouth is sharp so this plane can be adjusted to give a thin shaving and should be able to cut across knots, against the grain or in gnarly wood with minimal tear-out.
