Henry Disston & Sons crosscut saw, medallion marked with Dec. 27, 1887 patent date.

Saw-03

26 inch blade, but this saw would work better if you shortened it to 20 inches to make it a ship-point style by removing the dented tip.

Condition: Has been straightened; the very narrow point is dented as can be seen in the images; sharp; no pitting; other marks are stains from rust spots that have been removed.  There is no etched logo, but there is a Damaskeened pattern all over both sides.  8 points.

The handle has the smooth patina of a carefully and long-used tool.  Bears the imprints of its right-handed user as indentations into the apple wood; the upper tip has been chipped a little; some original finish remains.
