 The Peck, Stow
& Wilcox Company made this SAMSON model brace. It has a
strong ball bearing chuck which will grip any shaped bit within its
range of about 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch. Note the concealed ratchet
mechanism. About 25% of the nickel plating remains, but there is
a nice, dark patina of hard, black iron oxide to replace what was
lost. The mechanics are good and the rosewood handles are in
perfect condition with a tung oil finish to replace whatever lacquer
was once present. |
