The box label for this utterly unused brace is quite similar to that for a "military issue" Sogard No.2 eggbeater drill that I have, so this brace is probably also of that level of quality. Actually, the present brace is a "factory second" because of the mis-located hole that was for pinning the ratchet housing to the wire frame. The BR Group has two divisions: Adell & Sogard. There is a more comprehensive analysis here. The National Stock Number points to a page suggesting that the Stanley Works is the brace supplier. The GGG-B-671F designation is for a federal standard, available in PDF form.

U.S. Patent No. 1,880,521
Figures 1, 4 and 6-10 of the patent were omitted because they deal with aspects that are not included in the details of the present chuck.
The patent, owned by the Stanley Works, would have lapsed by October, 1949, so these jaws may have been surplussed to Sogard by Stanley by the time this brace was made.
