Ten inch swing brace with ball bearing LION chuck marked with
three patent dates: June 25,
1907 (US Pat. No. 857,947) February
16, 1909 (US Pat. 912,582), and November
8, 1910 (US Pat. 974,896). None of these patents is mentioned
in Ron Pearson's book, The American
Patented Brace, 1829-1924.
Brace is in good+ condition with excellent rosewood
handles, about 50% nickel plating remaining, and dark, unpitted patina
on the exposed steel.
Mechanically excellent.
