Pennsylvania in 1910, this penny postcard was inscribed, "Moonshine
Still from the Kentucky Mts." In jest of course. A close look will reveal that the lighting is a combination of gas and electric. By the time of George Langford Sr.'s dealings with Superintendent J. Stanley Brown during WWI, there were many more students enrolled at the high school, and so this room may well have been converted to use as a classroom. The card was published by Henley's Book Store in Joliet. |
