George Langford, Jr. worked for
his father, George, Sr., during Summers, 1916-1918, taking these
photographs in about 1917. He also made an aerial
photograph of the E.J.&E.
railroad yards in Joliet. The yards were directly behind the
crane in the image at left. The bridge barely seen behind the
crane is the East Jackson Street viaduct, from which Image
1 and Image 2 were taken. The man at right is Jake Mork, the
crane operator, who befriended George, Jr. during this period.
