March
At the end of March, I went to the Wilmington deposit with Sydne [Holmes Langford] - [no sites mentioned or identified - GL,Jr.]
April
Went with [Dr. Robert H.] Whitfield and his son Jon. [no sites mentioned or identified - GL,Jr.]  Later on, we went to the Thornton quarry [near Chicago] which is good for Niagara [limestone] fossils.
April 29 & 30
and May 1
At Wilmington with Eugene S. Richardson, Jr. on northeast part of Pig Pen area [Locality No. 4] and southeast and southwest part of Pig Pen [Locality No. 3].  He found a winged insect.
May 27-29
With Gene Richardson on three-day trip to Wilmington, Illinois.  On May 27th, left [the Field] Museum at 10:00AM.  Afternoon on northwest side of Goldblatt (Pig Pen) [Locality No. 4].  Rain at night.  On May 28th, [we went to] southeast side of Goldblatt [Locality No. 3] then near Santa Fe tracks [Locality No. 31] from 7:00PM to 8:30PM.  May 29th, [we went to] southeast side of Goldblatt [Locality No. 4].  Left at 1:30PM, arrived at [Field] Museum at 3:30PM.  Three days of cool, fine weather.

June 21 & 22
With Dr. [Robert H.] Whitfield and son Jon at Goldblatt's [Locality No. 3 and Locality No. 4].  Cloudy skies; hot.  Rain during nught, but no rain during either day.  We collected from 12:00Noon on the 21st to 8:30PM.  On the 22nd [we collected from] 7:30AM to 3:00PM; very hot.

Trip to Wilmington with Eugene S. Richardson, Jr.  We worked mostly near the Santa Fe tracks [probably Locality No. 23, Locality No. 12 and Locality No. 30 - GL,Jr.]  We got some good specimens from John [McClucki] as a loan.

September 3-5
[Eugene S.] Richardson and I spent three days on the east side [Locality No. 3 and Locality No. 4] and west side [Locality No. 5, Locality No. 6, Locality No. 7 and Locality No. 8] of the Pig Pen.  On the 3rd in the A.M. we went to an area about one-and-one-half miles southwest of Wilmington [probably Locality No. 22 - GL,Jr.]  We got in the back way through a farm owned by [Mr.] Jackson.  Fine weather.  Elmer Riggs came here September 4th and 5th.

Drove with [Dr. Robert H.] Whitfield and son Jon to an area through [Mr.] Jackson's farm to about one-and-one-half miles southwest of Wilmington [probably Locality No. 22 - GL,Jr.]  Weather fine; [but the] walking [was] very bad.

[Eugene S.] Richardson and I drove to Coal City to return borrowed fossils.  The [John] McClucki's guided us to Bensons near the Mazon Creek [fossil] beds.  After lunch, we collected about four hours near the Santa Fe tracks on the north side [probably Locality No. 23 - GL,Jr.]
