HAND-POWER ELEVATORS

Edwin Harrington, Hand Power Elevators, pages 142-143
Attention is called to our New and Improved Hand-Power Elevator. It is very simple in its construction, and has but few parts to wear or get out of order. All are in sight and easily inspected. It is very compact. Can be placed in position by any carpenter, there being no necessity for framework, provided the overhead girders or ceiling are strong enough to allow bolting the hangers or plank to them.

To support the hangers or gearing, there are two wrought iron bolts, passing up through each hanger, that insure strength and safety.

The speed and power are governed entirely by size of lifting wheels and gearing, which can be arranged to suit requirements of customers.

It has a very efficient double brake, both hand and automatic. The hand-brake is used for guiding or steadying the cage while descending. The automatic holds the load at any point while raising, loading or unloading.

The load may be lowered at any speed, the automatic brake coming into action whenever the operator pulls on the check-rope or lets go of it. It is, therefore, a Safe Elevator, and at the same time the most rapid Hand Elevator in use.

We are building three sizes :
B.—500 pounds capacity; will raise 500 pounds and lower 700 pounds. Geared.
C.—1,000 pounds capacity; will raise 1,000 pounds and lower 1,200 pounds. Geared.
D.—2,000 pounds capacity; will raise 2,000 pounds and lower 2,200 pounds. Geared.
